André Sombecki,
CFO and Director of Asia Affairs at Weidmuller, stated:
"Based on our firm assessment of the opportunities presented by the upgrading of Chinese manufacturing and our confidence in the long-term development of the Chinese economy, Weidmuller has decided to invest over RMB 1 billion in Suzhou Industrial Park to build its new Asian operations headquarters during this period. We highly value the international platform advantages of Suzhou Industrial Park, which boasts a complete industrial system and a high-quality development ecosystem, providing solid support for the company's global expansion."This is a significant investment for long-term development and reflects Weidmuller's strategic direction of continuously strengthening its local capabilities and deepening its globalization.
The new headquarters will break down traditional manufacturing boundaries, integrating intelligent manufacturing, cutting-edge R&D, smart logistics, engineering applications, a training center, customer experience, and full value chain functions to create a future-oriented regional operations headquarters. Upon completion, the project will synergize with the company's existing production capacity in Suzhou, jointly forming Weidmuller's 'golden wings' for cultivating the Asian market and propelling the allocation of resources in Asia into a new stage of full value chain upgrading.
Zhao Hongjun,
Executive Vice President and Head of Asia at Weidmuller, stated:
This project is a key extension of Weidmuller's strategy of "Rooted in China, Empowering Asia, Connecting the World," and a significant manifestation of our continued commitment to deepening our "customer-centric" capabilities.
By building a highly intelligent and digitalized operations headquarters, we aim to create a localized, full-lifecycle ecosystem that offers faster response times, more stable supply, and more forward-looking technology.
It is understood that the first phase of the Asia operations headquarters project has a building area of approximately 40,000 square meters. Upon completion, Weidmuller's Suzhou base will see its production capacity increase by more than three times. Simultaneously, the market-recognized Qilin series solutions will continue to be developed and mass-produced at the new base. This means that more high-quality solutions "R&D in China, Made in China" will reach the vast Asian and even global markets from here.
Against the backdrop of the accelerating reshaping of the global industrial landscape, the construction of Weidmuller's Asia operations headquarters is not only a capacity expansion but also a systemic upgrade of regional competitiveness. Based on this, Weidmuller will continue to empower customers' development with more stable, efficient, and predictable operational capabilities, becoming a reliable partner for their intelligent transformation and long-term development.
