According to the Machinery Directive 2006/42EG, terminal blocks may be white when used for functional earthing. PE terminals with a protective function for life and limb must still be green-yellow, but can also be used for functional earthing. The symbols used are extended in order to clarify the use as a functional earth.
Weidmuller offers white PE terminals from the ”A-, W- and Z series“ product family for systems in which this distinction should or must be made. The colour of these terminals clearly indicates that the respective circuits are exclusively to provide functional protection for the connected electronic system.
